The new fact sheet Effective measures for behavioural change pinpoints a combination of enforcement, education, public communication, and vehicle and infrastructure measures as the key to promoting safe behaviour on the roads. The well-known measures such as engineering, enforcement and education are discussed in relation to their effectiveness and how they work to change behaviour. The effectiveness of additional strategies, like nudging, monitoring and feedback systems, and rewarding safe behaviour is touched upon as well.
