Abstract

This study was undertaken to obtain more information on the behaviour of drivers at uncontrolled intersections. The intersection studied was located in a downtown area, and carried about 1200 vehicles per hour, distributed fairly evenly between the two streets. Data were obtained by means of a motion picture camera, which filmed all traffic for 100 feet along each leg of the intersection.
