Abstract
In the Summer and Autumn of 1959 the National Swedish Road Research Institute (VTI) carried out investigations of concrete roads. The purpose of these investigations was to determine whether some concrete pavements had substantially lower coefficients of friction than others. In order to form an idea of the friction coefficient level related to that of common bituminous pavements, friction measurements were also made on such pavements. The measurements were effected on 32 concrete sections and on 21 asphalt sections in all.
