Abstract

It is evident that the Breath alcohol Quantum, unlike the Blood Alcohol Content, has no absolute value, but depends critically on how and when the breath sample is taken. It therefore follows that the BAQ/BAC ratio is also a meaningless concept unless specified in terms of particular breath sampling procedure. This does not mean that the BAQ cannot be used but that more attention must be paid to the details pf breath sampling technique.
