Abstract
It has appeared to be possible to strike a balance with regard to 'one year of speed limit in Amsterdam'. Since the introduction of the restriction of the rate of speed on 1 September 1957, a fall has, for a year, been regularly recorded in the number of traffic accidents, which fall has been attended with a decrease of the number of traffic accidents involving extensive material damage, of the number of victims suffering serious injuries, and of the number of persons killed.
