Abstract

General methods of assessing a drivers' performance can be roughly divided into those that employ instrumentation and those that are based upon human observation and judgment. Bearing in mind the complexities and costs associated with the former, it is clear that the latter is worthy of further development. Therefore a 7 point rating scale is developed and the results of using the scale are discussed.
