Abstract
Based on the most recent data on traffic casualties and available knowledge on the degree of the completeness of the Traffic Accident Registration (AVV/BG), the most likely `real' figures are derived for hospitalized traffic casualties. These figures are compared with the consequences of the Dutch government policy goal for the year 2000. The number of fatal traffic victims are also presented. It turns out that the number of hospitalized traffic victims do not show the required reduction. A more favourable development is shown in the number of fatal traffic victims shows. (A)
