Studies were carried out on one hand with a mathematical vehicle model, on the other with field tests. The mathematical vehicle model was adopted to study the effects of different vehicle parameters on the dynamic stability of the vehicle combination. This study started with a vehicle combination consisting of a passenger car of a size common in Sweden and weighing about 1200 kg. and a trailer weighing 850 kg and with data typical for a trailer of that size The influence of some parameters was studied by varying these and keeping all other data constant.
