Abstract

An anthropometric study of 375 professional drivers of heavy vehicles, was made. Findings, and some of their implications, are discussed. It is suggested that since drivers were predominantly endomorphic mesomorphs, a physique reported to be especially prone to coronary artery disease, the relative frequency of this disease among drivers might reflect their physique, as well as such environmental aspects of their work as exertion and mental stress.
