This report presents the results of a detailed and wide ranging review of children and road safety and particularly education programs aimed at protecting children from road trauma. The focus of this review is the age range 0-16 years. However, the non-compulsory school years (aged 17-20) are not entirely neglected. The review examined the nature and extent of injuries and fatalities in Western Australia for children 0-20 years, education programs in Western Australia and a wide range of programs in other jurisdictions in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom and Europe. The outcome of the Review is to recommend priorities for Western Australia taking into account existing structures and recognising budget constraints. (A)
