Abstract

In this paper data are presented to indicate the importance and great need for precise measurements of coefficients of friction on many different types of pavements when dry, wet, snow- and ice-covered, with the latest types of rubber tyres, for the design of modern streets and highway and for developing programs for the prevention of skidding accidents.
