Abstract

Road users' expectations as regards information on traffic problems and services are reviewed. In France the largest part of road information processed by road information centres comes from messages received from the police or the ministry. Details are given of the processing of information and its transmission. The importance of using road information terminology comprehensible by all is stressed.
