Some experience in the design and application of road traffic signals in Christchurch.

Road traffic signals, signal installation and a method of assessing priorities for intersections improvement are discussed. A review of signal equipment is followed by design, installation and maintenance procedures. The papers concludes with a short discussion on some experiments with lane control and a forecast of future developments.
