Fact sheet 'Serious road injuries in the Netherlands' updated 20 March 2023 In 2021, the Netherlands recorded an estimated 6,800 serious road injuries, a figure similar to 2020 but lower than the upward trend observed until 2019. The decrease in 2020 and 2021 is likely due to COVID-19 social distancing measures resulting in less traffic.
