Starting off 2022 with a new program and a new director

The new year also marks the start of SWOV's new research program. This research program will focus on new developments now or in the near future, such as mobility shifts due to the corona crisis, the migration between urban and rural areas and developments in vehicle automation.

If the average speed on a road increases, crash risk also increases, as does the risk of a serious outcome. This is true in general terms, but more so when motorised vehicles crash with unprotected road users, such as pedestrians, cyclists and (light) moped riders.
