Abstract

The sampling and operational procedures used in a national roadside breath testing survey are described and B.A.C. results in relation to a number of geographic and driver characteristics are analyzed. It is concluded that such a survey is a valuable means of providing useful evaluative data at a reasonable cost. Ten operational improvements are suggested.
