Abstract

This publication contains a compilation of accident reports furnished directly to the Federal Highway Administration's Bureau of Motor Carrier Safety (BMCS) by motor carriers of passengers operating in interstate or foreign commerce. Any accident that results in death, personal injury, or property damage of $ 2,000 or more must be reported by the motor carrier. This publication contains statistical data relating to fatalities, injuries, property damage, and type of accident. These data have been compiled from 719 accident reports filed by motor carriers of passengers during the calendar year 1979.
