Abstract

Two telephone questionnaire surveys, the first of NSW car occupants and the second of parent/carers of child occupants, were carried out on behalf of the Roads and Traffic Authority during 1989. The survey examined the attitudes and knowledge of people toward occupant restraints. The major results in the areas of reported wearing, comfort, safety, attitudes, legal issues, and type of child restraint used, are examined and discussed.
