20 mph speed limits and zones.

Abstract

This leaflet advises on how and where to implement 20 mph zones and also highlights research by TRL who studied over 250 zones in the UK. The main findings indicated that average speeds reduced by 9 mph, annual accident frequency fell by 60%, an overall reduction in child accidents of 67% and an overall reduction in accidents of cyclists of 29%.
