Abstract

Several aspects of infrastructural investments and their consequences on regional development are focussed on. The present system of appraisal of transport projects did not have success, because investments were not based on an integrated approach of a transport system which forms a major component in regional development. A more integrated approach of planning and design of transport infrastructure is recommended.
