Abstract

Purpose of the Index is to investigate the public’s traffic-safety-related knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, and experiences; to monitor America’s traffic safety culture; to guide traffic safety research and public outreach; to foster dialogue about traffic safety and how to improve it. This report presents the results of the AAA Foundation’s third annual Traffic Safety Culture Index, conducted from May 11 through June 7, 2010, a survey conducted with a nationally representative sample of 2,000 U.S. residents 16 years of age and older, in English and in Spanish, via landline and cellular telephone, from May 11, 2010 through June 7, 2010.
