Abstract

This report gives the results for 1967 of a traffic census which has been in progress, since January 1956, at 50 points on the trunk and classified roads of Great Britain. It also revises certain results for previous years in the light of those obtained from a census made in 1966/67 at about 1300 points on all roads in Great Britain. Traffic on trunk and classified roads in 1967 is estimated to have risen by about 4 per cent since 1966, 56 per cent since 1960 and 116 per cent since 1956.
