Abstract

A "before" survey was carried out to attempt to obtain some insight into the attitude of the public towards roads in general, and to assess the likely attitude to a proposed reconstruction. It consisted of questionnaire surveys conducted with motorists, parkers, walkers and residents, and photographic, speed flow and noise surveys. An ''after'' survey will be carried out when the reconstruction is finished.
