Abstract

The current trend in thinking about the concept of nodes depends largely upon theoretical insights and opinions. A research project based on 'learning from practice' has been performed in order to improve the usefulness of this concept. In this research project. several cases studies have been viewed. The outcome of the project are a number of starting points for answering the question: How can the concept of nodes be used in the policy of the Dutch Ministry of Transport, for which goals and in what way? In this paper, the authors present the most important outcomes of their research. (A)
