Abstract

Comparison of data from Japan and the Netherlands shows that the number of fatalities per 100.000 inhabitants in Japan is lower than in the Netherlands. During 1974 to 1984 the number of traffic deaths in Japan has decreased with ± 50%. The policy of the Japanese government is given a law. "The fundamental Law related to traffic safety measures" from 1970
