Abstract

For a section of the Dutch population, the disabled, the regular public transport is not accessible enough. At the moment the disabled with mobility problems can claim legal financial compensation. But on January 1, 1994 a new regulation comes into force in which the local authority has the duty to take care of these people. Besides the possibility to give an individual payment, there is a possibility to offer a product in natura, such as a collective transport system in the framework of the new legislation. A plan for such a collective transport system in the province of Friesland is proposed.
