Natural gas bus: People, Planet, Profit for governments and transport companies. By using higher environmental requirements then usually is the case in concessions of public transport, the public bus can make a much larger contribution to the short term improvement of local air quality. With that the concession holder can steer towards the deployment of the cleanest alternative commercially available: bus on natural gas. Under the current circumstances the deployment of natural gas bus brings no additional costs with itself. The price difference between a natural gas bus and a diesel bus and the investments in the natural gas filling station are compensated by the lower fuel costs. Several bus manufacturers provide the modern natural gas technology from factory. The natural gas bus has already been adopted on large scale in several European countries. In the Netherlands as well, several cities have now chosen to apply natural gas in public transport. De concessieverlener kan aansturen op het schoonste alternatief dat momenteel beschikbaar is: de aardgasbus. Onder de huidige omstandigheden brengt de inzet van aardgasbussen geen meerkosten met zich mee. De investeringen in de meerprijs van een aardgasbus en in het aardgasvulstation worden namelijk gecompenseerd door de lagere brandstofkosten. De moderne aardgastechniek wordt door meerdere busproducenten standaard geleverd en is direct inzetbaar. Aardgasbussen rijden al in groten getale rond in verschillende Europese landen.
