Accessibility of the Nantes trams to persons with a mobility handicap.

Abstract

This short article presents technical details about the design and dimensions of the trams used in Nantes to improve accessible public transport for the disabled. Data are provided of: a) length; b) floor and rail height; c) capacity; d) both loaded and unloaded weight. Diagrams giving the layout and dimensions of both the carriages, and of the access area of both low floor and high floor cars are provided.
