Abstract

Accident analysis is aimed at assessing the effect of road, vehicle and human factors on accident and injury rates, and identifying economically viable measures for reducing the frequency or severity of road accidents. It covers national studies, regional studies and local studies. Some of the different techniques of accident investigation employed are briefly outlined and their uses and applications illustrated.
