Abstract

The paper describes the crash environment in which asteering system has to function. The influence of Fb'IVSS203 on design is examined by analysing the field perfor-mances of two different groups of steering assemblies inaccidents in which unrestrained drivers veere either se-riously or fatally injured. Improvements to both the methodof test and the injury criterion are suggested.
