Abstract

A general view is given of the accident risk on various types of road sections and junctions and the effect of improved road management. The lack of figures which can fully describe the safety level of different types of road elements makes it hard to predict future number of accidents on alternative road networks. In order to produce such figures studies on accident rates have been carried out in Norway for some time and will continue in the future.
