Abstract

The system of accident recording that is being used in Cumberland is described. Most of the data are provided by the police, who supply them on basic forms. Datails are given of the print-outs that can be obtained. Problems of accident investigation, type of vehicle, road signs, driver behaviour, traffic flow, condition of the road, cost of work and proposed programme developments are examined.
