Abstract

In 1968 65.904 traffic accidents in which children from 0-15 years of age were involved in West Germany were registrated. 49.6% of these children were pedestrians, 27.8% vehicle occupants and 22.5% bicyclists. The number of bicycle accidents in which children were involved increased 20% since 1966-1967. The most of these accidents were due to the children’s own fault.
