Abstract
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide a broad picture of the safety problems associated with bicycles,mopeds, and motorcycles as part of the general traffic pattern. It contains an analysis of accidents which has been used for highlighting the key characteristics of each of the three types of two-wheeled vehicles, viz.firstly, the general accident pattern and, secondly, the conditions which have a bearing on the accident situations most frequently encountered.
