Abstract
Background documentation is presented as part of the safety campaign for old people in traffic, and in particular for crossing the roads. When people get older, they get also slower and they usually need a longer reaction time. They have more chance of an accident and they feel unsafe. This feeling unsafe results often in unpredictable behaviour in traffic, as a result of which they are more vulnerable. So a vicious circle arises which can be broken by giving them time. The main groups for which the campaign is intended are the car drivers and lorry drivers.
