Abstract

This synthesis is recommended to soils engineers, material engineers, design engineers, construction engineers, and others involved in the acquisition and use of geotechnical information in route selection, design and construction of transport-action facilities. Information is presented on current practice in such matters as planning, conducting, and presenting information from geotechnical investigations.
