Abstract

This report is the first deliverable of the ADVISORS Project (Action for Advanced Drivers Assistance and Vehicle Control System Implementation, Standardisation, Optimum Use of the Road Network and Safety), DGTREN GRD1 2000-10047. ADVISORS is a research project, aimed at defining current problems in today's road traffic, assessment of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with regard to those problems, in the light of safety, road network capacity and environmental load and finally devising implementation scenarios of potentially powerful ADAS, which in parallel assessment methods are devised and standardised. This report is an update of the first deliverable D1/2.1 v1, which was published five months after the start of the project (starting date: April 1st 2000). (A)
