Acute subdural haematoma: Pathology and mechanisms.

Abstract

A review of 63 cases of acute subdural haematoma (ASDH) is presented and the pathology, mechanism and correlation of the two are discussed. On the basis of operative findings the cases were divided into those due to venous bleeding, arterial bleeding, contusion /laceration and those in which no active bleeding was seen.
