Abstract

In this paper, the test requirements and solutions for Adaptive Cruise Control radar modules are discussed. An overview is given of automotive radar systems currently in development and the application of these radars in ACC systems discussed in detail. Anritsu's ACC Radar Test System (ACC-RTS) is then presented, which addresses the test and measurement requirements of ACC radars in R&D Development/Characterization, Module/System Design Verification, Vehicle EMC Susceptibility Verification, and Module/Vehicle Production. The ACC-RTS provides a moving target simulator (with variable distance, Doppler, and Radar cross-section) for testing and calibrating the radar sensors, and it also provides mm-wave signal analysis for power and spectral characterization of the radar.
