Abstract

The screening and referral to treatment of DWI offenderswith a drinkmg problem have raised serious clinical issuesin alcoholism rehabilitation. This paper presents a struc-tural overview of an "adjustment demand" which develops asthe result of the stress caused by ß DWI arrest and con-viction. Both the task oriented and defense oriented "ad-justment demands" are analysed with particular attentionto issues relevautlto alcoholism treatment.
