Abstract

This paper presents a description of a possible system wherein automobiles as we know them today are used in conjunction with other major subsystems to provide high speed, high capacity, and high safety interurban transportation. The system incorporates several advanced subsystems concepts, including a deterministic control system, a functional train headway policy, high speed switching, and a unique station layout.
