The ASSET-Road project is focussing on improving road safety and road traffic by pushing different transportation stakeholders to interact between each other and integrating modern communication and sensing technologies. Within the ASSET project four test sites in Germany, France, Finland and Austria will be set up under real-world traffic situations. The design of these test sites is clearly different in their objectives, scope of functions and performance. The present deliverable deals with the concepts, the requirements and the specifications of the four test sites. Their joint feature, however, is the purpose of testing and further developing the different sensors, the algorithms, the software and the sequence of operations developed within ASSET-Road.
