Abstract

Transportation Research Record 1811 examines false alarm rates of mobile sensor and freeway incident-detection algorithms, a freeway performance system in California designed to help planners and architects alleviate congestion, the use of algorithms to monitor commuter congestion for optimizing adaptive control systems to reduce delays, and more. The papers contained in this volume were among those presented at the 81th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board in January 2002.
