Abstract

The technical papers in this publication are grouped according to their main emphasis. The first deals with the international experience on field accident performance of belt restrained occupants, issues of belt effectiveness and recent laboratory data on vehicles crashworthiness with belt-restrained dummies. The second deals with questions of belt usage and.emphasises the public health and public policy issues associated with programs to mandate and encourage belt use. The third addresses international advances in the design and performance of belt restraint systems.
