Abstract

Improvements in Diesel engine drive have over the last years made it possible to cut fuel consumption in buses by about 10%. These reductions in consumption are, together with modifications to the engine, the result of optimum adaptation of the drive train to the conditions of operation. The Diesel engine will remain the drive system for buses for a long time, but other, alternative fuels, are already in use.
