Abstract

From the research conducted so far, it is possible to conclude that the use of drugs already recorded as dangerous is a hazard to road safety as they impair the individual's driving ability. However, it has not yet reached the stage where it is possible to establish a direct link between the dose taken and the effect on road safety. Recommendations for more research, alternative penalties, more publicity of the risk of drug use to road safety, are presented.
