Abstract

The information contained in this paper has been derived, in great part, from Project 3-2 of the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, which is being administered by the Highway Research Board. The subject of "The Airborne Observer in Traffic Control" will be reported in (1), including the material on a remote video system carried by a tethered balloon. The other discussions on the use of airborne equipment for traffic data acquisition and control are presented here in order to show what techniques are generally available for application to traffic problems.
