Abstract

This report describes a study which links influencial factors developed in the Questa project with the Scenario Explorer 1.2 by means of a user friendly interface utility. The Questa project aims to develop a long-term view. The developed factors are assumed to strongly influence the traffic and transport system, but at the same time cannot be directly influenced by traffic and transport policy. This concerns 25 influencing factors in total. For these factors several indicators are provided by the Questa project. For some factors, more than one indicator is provided, for other factorsnone. The indicators are linked with the Scenario Explorer control and scenario variables. This is performed in such a way that all relevant Scenario Explorer variables are linked. For this reason the linking is 'complete' and every fully specified Questa scenario that consists of influential factors will be translated into a complete scenario for the Scenario Explorer. A Questa module is developed in Excel 7.0 in which the following four Questa basic scenarios are included: `Free State', `Unrestricted', `Polderland', and `Quality of life'. The Questa module can be used to adjust the basic scenarios and enable the Scenario Explorer to estimate the consequences of the influential factors on passenger transport. In this way, forecasts can be made of future transportation performances. (A) For the first part see C 12560.
