Abstract

The author discusses challenges that go hand in hand with context sensitive solutions. Successful implementation of context sensitive design involves collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams and public involvement. Barriers to successful implementation include 2 myths - (1) context sensitive solutions cost more, and (2) context sensitive solutions compromise standards, are less safe, and increase liability.
