Abstract

This report reviews works that has been carried out with the object of finding new sources of highly polishresistant (high-PSV) road aggregates. The work reviewed has shown that calcined bauxites are better than almost all other materials, and that there is a considerable range of synthetic materials that could be manufactured to provide aggregates with properties lying between those of the best natural rocks and calcined bauxite.
